Certain life events such as getting married or adding a new child to your family, are considered Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) and can affect your Lineage benefits. QLEs are a change in your life that qualifies you to update your benefits enrollment before the next Open Enrollment. When you experience a QLE, you have 30 days from the event to make benefits changes related to your event. Learn about different QLEs and what you may want to consider and do as you navigate life’s changes.

If you have a Qualifying Life Event, benefit changes must be made in Workday within 30 days.

Note: You can apply for a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) in Workday with the appropriate documentation. If you fail to begin the process within 30 days, you will not be able to make changes to your benefits until the next annual Open Enrollment period. Any retroactive benefit deduction payments, if applicable, will be collected on the pay date following the approval of the business process in Workday.

We will not accept enrollments after the 30-day window or enrollments that have been submitted without proper documentation.

Please note: If you have a dependent, Dependent Verification Services will reach out to verify your family members’ eligibility. You will be asked to provide documentation such as marriage and/or birth certificates. If backup documentation is not provided by the deadline provided, your dependent(s) will be removed from coverage and premiums will not be refunded.

New child
(birth, adoption or foster)

Please notify your Human Resources Representative or initiate the Life Event in Workday within 30 days of the QLE, even if you don’t yet have the appropriate documentation. Submit all documents to benefits@onelineage.com or attach to the Life Event in Workday. When you add a new family member, the effective date of the change will be the date of the event.

Getting Married
(or new domestic partnership)

Getting divorced
(or legally separated/ending a partnership)

Death in the family

Change in work status
(e.g., to part-time or full-time, union to non-union)

When your work status at Lineage changes, you might need to change your benefits, too. Use the checklist below to guide you through important actions you may want to take at this time.

Loss or gain of benefit coverage
(you or a dependent)

Gaining or losing health insurance can occur for many reasons, such as turning age 26 when you are no longer eligible for coverage on a parent’s plan or adding/dropping coverage on a spouse’s plan. Use the checklist below to guide you through important actions you may want to take at this time.
